We all know how addicting social media can be. Whether we’re checking in on Facebook to see what our friends are up to, or scrolling through Twitter to see what’s trending, we’re spending more and more time online. And as one of the most popular social networking platforms out there, it’s no surprise that Instagram has become a go-to for many people. With over 500 million active users – and counting! – it’s safe to say that Instagram is here to stay.
But with all the time we’re spending on social media, it’s only natural to start wondering about the details. For example, does Instagram show you who viewed your profile? What about who viewed your photos and videos? Let’s take a look at what Instagram does (and doesn’t) reveal about your profile views.

Does IG tell you who viewed your profile?
Unfortunately, there is no built-in feature on Instagram that allows you to see who has recently viewed your profile. Instagram does not currently offer any kind of “views” feature, either for profiles or for individual posts. So if you’re wondering why you’re not seeing a list of everyone who’s looked at your stuff, that’s why.
However, there are some technical work arounds that some users have used in order to get this information. One method is to create a fake account and then follow the user whose views you want to track. Once you’re following them, you can check the “Following” tab on your own profile to see when they were last active. However, this method is not foolproof, as the user could have their account set to private or they could have deleted their account entirely.
Another method that’s been used is to search for third-party apps that claim to offer this service, but we would caution against using them. For one thing, they’re probably in violation of Instagram’s terms of service. But more importantly, they’re likely not accurate. These apps use shady tactics like monitoring how often you check other people’s profiles and then giving you fake “views” based on that activity. So even if they did work as advertised, the data they showed you would be completely meaningless.
Does Instagram show you who viewed your photos and videos?
When it comes to photos and videos on Instagram, things work a little differently than they do for profiles. Unlike profiles, an Instagram native built-in feature allows users to see who has liked or commented on their photos and videos – but there is no way to see who has simply viewed them.
Furthermore, even though there is no way to directly see who has viewed your photos and videos, there are indirect ways to get this information. For example, if someone likes or comments on one of your photos or videos, you’ll be able to tell that they’ve seen it because their username will appear under the photo or video. additionally, If someone sends you a direct message after viewing one of your photos or videos, you’ll also be able to tell that they’ve seen it because their username will appear in the chat window. So even though there is no official way to track who has viewed your photos and videos on Instagram, there are still some methods you can use to get this information indirectly!
Does Instagram show you who viewed your Stories?
To view who has viewed your Instagram stories, simply go to your profile page and tap on the “Your Story” icon. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see a list of the people who have viewed your story. The views are sorted in chronological order, with the most recent view appearing first. If you want to get more detailed information about who has viewed your story, you can tap on the “eye” icon next to each name. This will bring up a list of all the times that person has viewed your story, as well as any other interactions they’ve had with it (likes, comments, shares, etc.).

So there you have it! Unfortunately, there is no way to tell who has viewed your profile or videos on Instagram. Any app that claims to be able to do that is probably fake and definitely not worth your time. Just keep doing your thing and posting great content, and the views will come naturally!
